Accomodations

The process to request accommodations for the SAT, PSAT, AP exams and/or ACT starts with the parent. Additionally, please be aware that the application for accommodations for the SAT, PSAT and AP exams is totally separate/different from the application for accommodations for the ACT.
To request accommodations for the SAT, PSAT and/or AP exams:
- Complete and sign the College Board Consent form to start the process to request accommodations for the test of your choice (SAT, PSAT and/or AP exams).
- Please return the consent form (email is preferred) to your student's 504 coordinator or Marissa Martin (MNMartin@forsyth.k12.ga.us) for students with IEPs.
- The extended time application is submitted electronically by North Forsyth.
- You can either register your student for the SAT before or after they have been approved for accommodations.
To request accommodations for the ACT:
- Complete and sign the ACT “Consent to Release Information to ACT” to start the process to request accommodations for the test.
- Go to www.actstudent.org and register for an ACT test.
- During the online registration process, the student will be asked if they need accommodations. The student will say “yes” and then choose either “extended time national” (which is extended time all in one day) or “special testing” (which is extended time over multiple days).
- After the registration has been completed, the student will receive an email from ACT that they will need to forward to either Elizabeth Tate (students with 504s) or Marissa Martin (students with IEPs) so that the school can request accommodations for the student.
- The request for accommodations is submitted electronically by North Forsyth.
All approvals and denials for accommodations are determined by College Board (for the SAT, PSAT and AP exams) or the ACT program; not North Forsyth High School.
